How likely is it a high AC1 test will postpone surgery? How high?
I have worried myself into an honest to goodness "dither". Someone on the boards mentioned a few weeks ago that their surgery was postponed because of a high AC1 test (average blood sugar over a 3 month period). This is the first time I had heard this and I have been reading the boards daily for months. I have diabetes. I don't take insulin, but I do take Amaryl and Actos. I have been taking my medicine, but my eating has been out of control waiting on my surgery on 4/7. I don't test my sugar like I should either (I know, I know - bad, bad, bad). I would have made better choices had I known that it would possibly jeopardize my surgery. I am so worried!! My pre-op tests are on Tues (4/1).
