Will I be able to party 10 days before my surgery?

My friends have planned a 30th birthday party for me and I just found out it is 3 days before my pre-op testing and 9 days before my surgery. Will I be able to drink or smoke at this party? I usually don't drink at all and I am a "social" smoker only, but I was planning to "party down". Is that now out of the question?
