gastro dr. visit 1/2 complete

wanting to know if anyone completed consult with surgeon and the surgeon said they DID NOT have to see a gastro dr. i went to the gastro dr. 2/10 and he said i would have to have an endoscopy(sp?) my consult is 2/14 with surgeon and not sure if i should schedule the endoscopy yet. the gastro said nothing was wrong its just procedure.
