I wanted to know if it was best to buy your protein drinks before or after surgery

My nutritionist said it was best to have your protein purchased b4 hand..but I have seen alot of post saying that you taste cahnge alot after surgery. I am going to have my surgery January 31,2003 and I dont want to go waste money and have to go buy something different.....I dont know what to do I need help Please!!!!!
