Impact vs Non-Impact carbs

For some reason my previous post about this came up without a subject in the question box, so here we go again -- Hi all :). 9 days post-op today and have lost 3 inches! Ok, so I realize this isn't a big deal to someone who's lost 60 inches or so, but it made me happy :). ANYWAYS, who can really and truly tell me the truth about those non-impact carbs? I've done loads of research, and from what it looks like, those non-impact carbs are still bad little guys! They can come from various sources, including oats and oat flour (both of which my surgeon insists we NOT eat), and don't appear to be as innocent as some people think. Anyone have the real truth?
