How long are you supposed to take to drink your protein drink?

Hi I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I am trying protein supplements (pre-op) to go ahead and purchase a few for when I get home. I found one I like but it takes about a half hour to finish it taste good but it has a twangy taste though that quenches my thirst. Will it be ok to take longer once I am post- op?
