Why does my paragraph structure not carry through to my posts?

Everything I post to Q&A or the message board ends up as one long blob of writing, yet when I type I put things in paragraphs. I see some peoples posts come through okay. What am I doing wrong? Also the paragraphs show up in my profile but when I go to my surgery page the Personal Comments are all lumped together. Who knows, this may be all lumped together too but it wasn't written that way. Any Ideas?
