Has anyone gained weight pre-op due to quitting smoking?

Has anyone gained weight when they quit smoking as a pre-op requirement? If so how much? I know some doctors do a test to check for nicotine in the blood-how long must you be without this for your blood tests to come back negative and do the patches affect this result?
