Does anyone have suggestion for pain killers?

A few years ago, I broke both ankles, I had the Morphine pump after surgery, and later vicodine. I had severe vomiting. I've found Percoset makes me extremely itchy and restless and also stomch upset, so does Codeine and Darvocet.. The only thing I dread about the upcoming surgery are the painkillers.. I will bring it up with the surgeon, but was wondering if anyone else found a pain killer that worked for them that may have the same sensitivity. I don't want to be vomiting after this surgery or experience terrible dry heaves...
