How much help will I need after surgery?

I am scheduled for open BPD/DS on Nov 11 and I am trying to schedule post-op help from family and friends. The hospital is 2hrs from our home, so my hubby will probably stay w/me in Nashville minimum 2 days. My sis will be flying in that first week also - should she stay 1 or 2 weeks? I have friends that can help when she leaves, but will I need someone home with me fulltime weeks 3 and/or 4? I ask this because we have a 7 & 3 yr old that are taxied to school, choir and basketball. I know my mom-in-law would help in a heartbeat, but we aren't planning on telling the inlaws unless we really have to. Any tips or suggestions????
