Having anyone torn a muscle in stomach area?

I am two months post -op and in very much pain.This pain is about 2 to 3 inches to the right of my incision. It hurts to get up , to walk, to laid down and to cough or sneeze! My doctor thinks it a torn muscle and it will take six to eight weeks to heal!!! I am terrified. Has anyone experience this? nita r
