What type of test do they run to detect a hernia or an ulcer?

I have a bulge after I eat above my belly button. It feels like it could just be my stomach as my husband's does the same thing. However, my stomach is hard when I stand up and I'm a little worried. I have no paint. I'm 10 mos. post-op Open RNY and I've lost 96lbs. Thanks everyone!
