Was anyone diagnosed with Mitro valve prolapse prior to surgery?

I am curious if anyone has had this problem prior to surgery. I was diagnosed with it a few months after taking the lovely phen -fen drug. Was taking blood thinners for a while and then my palpitations stopped as I lost a little weight. Have not taken the blood thinners in a few years and now the palpitations are coming back. Trying to cut out all caffeine. Was curious if anyone was approved through their insurance with this problem and if they had to go back on their medicine or if the palpitations simply went away. Is this considered a co-morbidities?? Thanks Saphya S
