July 4, 2002 **== happy Independence day! I need a prayer!!! please.anyone has NJ BC BS PPO cover ahernia and panniculectomy?<P> hello all thank you for your support! I know its not easy for any of us. I thought the hardest part was the wls surgery, till I grew this huge panni. :( well I have sent in my appeal for my panniculectomy, Im still devistated from the initial denial since we have been begging for a response from them since march 2002, considering the 11 medical problems I developed because of the panni.I also have a 10 inch incisional hernia just above it,from wls, it looks alot like 1/2 a basket ball sticking out of my abdomen, Im just waiting for someone to ask me when IM due. :o It's HUGE. I thought I was saving time and money by having both surgeries at once. Yesterday I faxed them all of the gory details with color photos, Im hoping their appeal board curls its toes when they see and read it, its not pretty. ok so tomorrow it goes to the review board becuase my surgery is scheduled for 7-16-02 at the hospial of the university of penn. The doctors told me if I have the hernia repair without the panni, then I could herniate again, wasnt I thrilled to hear that? The doctor said I have the option of paying cash....8500, his fee 3500 the rest is extra operating room time and fees? wow who has an extra 8500? not me! Tomorrow is the big day....will drag into next week Im sure, If you would say a quick prayer for me I would greatly appreciate it. sorry for being so long winded. :) Thank you!! Im crossing my fingers!(and praying really hard)
