Does anyone have bladder spasms post op after UTI?

Before my surgery I had a UTI. It was resolved using Cipro...but by the end of my Rx, I was in pain - although the infection was gone. Felt like my urethra was torn up when I peed. After I was cathed in surgery (6/5/02) I was again put on Cipro for a UTI. Same thing...although now, its been more then a week and I seem to get bladder spasms or soemthing. Seems worse when I dont get my water in and seems worst AFTER I empty my bladder. I am terrified of having to have another procedure like a Cystoscopy... can anyone help me to diagnosis whats going on and/or let me know if this happened to you and if it will go away on it's own?
