starting bmi of 40.2, if i lose 10% pre-op, will i still qualify?

My bmi is 40.2. My surgeon asks for a 10% weight loss prior to surgery which will obviously lower my bmi below 40. i have hypertension and hypothyroidism. will that be enough to keep me qualified?
