For people who have a morphine allergy: what did they give you for pain & was it ok?

I have heard that morphine is a great drug, but coedine and vicodin make me really itchy so I don't think that they will give it to me. I am wondering if anyone has had this allergy, and then what did they put into the PCA pump? Was it a good drug? Were you in any pain at all? Did it make you really disoriented or dizzy? Thanks- I am so scared of pain.
