I was denied payment on my intial Dr consult claim...

Being denied on my intial Doctors Claim Request (this was for the Doctor's visit, thats all) does this mean later when the insurance recieves my request for surgery will reply as they responded w/this claim "Your contract does not allow payment for this particular service." What does this mean as far as my approval! I am scared :( Has anyone else had this happen while waiting for approval?????
