When will the feeling like I have air stuck in my esophagas go away?

I am two and a half weeks post op and doing great. I have never gotten sick or thrown up. I have been able to keep everything down, but when I swallow my potassium pill or even eat I feel like I have air stuck in my esophagas. I can't explain it. It will make noise like I have to burp but I don't and then after awhile it will just pass. Sometimes I even get the hecups from it. I am chewing my food really good and I just need some input on this. How long does this happen and when will it go away.
