How long does it take to absorb protein/vitamins?
I hope that one of you protein/vitamin guru's can help me with this question. I know that we (RNY) are limited w/regard to the amount of protein we can absorb in one serving, but how long does it take for total absorption? Also, I know not to take my Ca Citrate w/iron, but what is the general rule for how long to wait in between them? How about eating after a protein supplement? I have been waiting 1+ hours, but just wanted to be sure that I am allowing enough time in between. I have not yet seen a definative answer to this question.Thanks, everyone, Jean
