When can I go back to school after Lap RNY?

I am a full time college student and I only have a two winter break due to the olymipics coming out. I have exactly one week between my surgery and when school starts. Will this be enough time for me to recover. I'm going to inform teachers of my surgery so if I miss class. It's my last semester I need and I don't want to wait until next fall to take the classes. Can anyone tell me if a week recovery will be enough time to be able to sit in class?
