How soon post-op will I be able to start lifting my husband and providing his care?

My husband has cerebral palsy and I can't find any help to care for him while I recover. He is a total lift and as I am the primary bread-winner I can not afford to have a health care agency come in to care for him. Any suggestions or agencies that anyone is aware of out there?
