Anne,
Thank you so much.  Hey I'll be in Cincinnati and Houston!  Thank you for your kind words.  And hey even though it's not about the hair so much...I do see things and feel things that other people don't sometimes.  It can be good and it can be bad.  I pick up feelings of people and animals that suffer so that's not so good.

So glad your hair is doing well!!!!!!!!!!!
hugs, Y

Yvonne doesn't have ESP

SHE IS ESP...

EXTRA SPECIAL PERSON

and YES it is a BIG relief when the hair loss sloooows down and finally stops to a normal degree of shed. I was thrilled when mine finally stopped because it started early only about 4 weeks out from surgery- most people start at about month 3. YIKES talk about panic mode.

Now I'm just a happy happy camper!

Congratulations on getting past the extreme shedding!

Anne, LOVED reading this today (on my 4 month anniversary:-)!!). I am feeling all you wrote about. LOVE my sleeve and the better health it has given me. Thanks for sharing all the good things that having surgery have done for you...even the proactive way you have dealt with hair loss. I worry at times as I see it come out between my fingers as I wash my hair or in my brush--UGH!! BUT I know it is temporary and will come back in time...AND if needed I will use Toppik just like my friend, Anne.

I love how much more patient I have become. I'm not sure why I am more patient, maybe from teaching myself to slow down as I eat or to eat more mindfully. It seems to have worked in other areas of my life as well.

SOOOOO happy to be SLEEVED and living a healthier lifestyle. GREAT post, Anne! I LOVE your all the positives that you shared!!

My Dear Friends thank you for your input. I'm sorry it's taken so long for me to respond.

I promised myself that I would not focus on the numbers on the scale but go by how I felt, and I have stopped sticking to that, I found myself working to get to certain numbers, then once I get there, I worked towards smaller numbers. As it is now I don't have much of a figure, something I always had. Even at 250 I still had sort of an hourglass going on. (over that I just looked blobie ) I think once I get the plastics done I will feel a little more confident.  I really don't want a lot done, Boobs for sure!!! And a little tightening here and there.  I can't say I am really "ok" with gaining weight but I think as I start to look better it will get easier.

Thank you again my dear friends

First things first: Yvonne Really is a Gem!!

I was having trouble with hair loss before my surgery (I have pcos) Last summer I ran out of shampoo and started using DH's  'Loreal Vive Pro for men' and of course I kept forgetting to buy shampoo. I beleive it has helped thicken my hair a bit. I still use it. I shampoo the top of my head with it and let it stay for a few then I shampoo with mine (it smells kinda manly lol) It's inexpensive ($5-$6 a bottle) and I think it works as well as any of the expensive stuff I've used, and I am really hard on my hair!!  I wa**** everyday, blow dry, flat Iron, then hot roll.  So I'm prolly pretty lucky I still have any.....

Yvonne you were you right!   You said at 6 months out having started the hair loss at 3 months out I should be stopping my hair loss. Just the last couple of times, and mostly the last time I showered, the hair loss has been almost nil!!!!!  Yeah!!!!  and phew.  When you get older you need every hair you can get.  I like to think it's going to grow back nicely.  The hair I still have seems to be good.  I remember reading posts on OH about supplements people believed would help their hair and started taking every one (selenium, zinc,  biotin, flaxseed, etc.) at the time I had surgery.  So, the new hair should be richly nurtured.
You are a gem Yvonne.  Someday maybe I'll make it to a conference and shake your hand.

Live that life and enjoy every moment.  Relish every minute and live it as full as you can...just don't forget. That's all you have to do. That's when we get in a little trouble...when we forget where we came from. Never forget that you realized your dream!  I am so happy for you and your family!!  I hope you'll be reporting on these trips over and over and over.

I hope these moments don't slow down too soon, for the first time in many years I feel like I am really living life. For so long I was just drifting through life. This weekend I am ging back to Six Flags and taking my granddaughter with me so we won't be riding the roller coasters. We will be focusing more on the kinds of rides that kids ride so my old bones will not get beat up so much.

Thanks for the support Yvonne

I am so grateful for our other members here.  Ever since returning from California I have gotten so many emails for help and I feel so badly for not being here as much.  I think you got such great answers.  I always tell everyone not to freak when you are at your lowest weight because it will come back without even trying very hard.  It also gives your body some time to adjust and also it gives friends and family time to adjust.  I have literally had friends tell me they were glad that I put some weight on because I had gotten so thin.   I didn't tell them that I really hadn't...they just got used to it and they didn't know.  The operative word is panic.  Don't need to panic about anything you know?  Take it slow and easy.  It will work out sweetie.
Love ya girl, Y
