ONE YEAR Follow appointment with Doc Tomorrow!!!

Back to the beginning...

Friday afternoon I lit out of town to meet my 3 friends from PA in Binghamton NY for a 5K Saturday am. We had a nice evening- dinner out at OUTBACK Steakhouse. I ordered the small sirloin, veggies & sweet potato.

We drove around trying to figure out the race course for the morning but it was already dark, and all of were tired... so we managed to get turned around a couple times before we decided to go back to the hotel. (the GPS wasn't much help either.... :(     !!!  )

Alarms went off early in the am. and since there was 4 of us & 1 bathroom... I made good use of the WAITING time and went down to the pool and swam a few small laps.  (VERY DIFFICULT to swim laps in a KIDNEY shape pool)

so.... gave up on that I went over to the HOT TUB for 15 mins!
So nice at 6AM when there is NO ONE AROUND!!!

went back to room... got dressed & packed ... off to breakfast.... I had a protein shake while they all had egg mcmuffin's & OJ.
(NONE of them have had WLS... so they can eat whatever they choose)

off to the race. WE finished last... but we were planning on that since we were walking most of it.
I checked the race results and I had to laugh! they got my time WRONG... 39. something it really was 52minutes.
I think i would have broken 52 but Laur fell and we went back to assist her. She ok just scraped up a bit.

I really need to pick up my training schedule for the Oct Half-Marathon.... which I think I will do by doing more indoor training for now to avoid this heat & humidity!

Hope everyone is doing well....

and remember be HAPPY for your SMALL SUCCESSES.... they add up!

Anne ... That is so wonderful! It is truly amazing what a few months and the weight loss does for us!  Experiencing new things is a fun thing... but when we go back and DO things that we had tried to do in the past as obese people and suffered failure or shame, embarassment and other negative feelings... these are the things that seem to give me the greatest joy!

It just feels like a fresh start and wipes out all that negavity!

Welcome to the NEW & IMPROVED YOU!!!

Congrats!

So I'm starting to feel really dumb.  :(  I finally forced myself today to try to eat a string cheese.  It was really uncomfortable, but it didn't come back up.  I waited an hour or so, and I actually felt a little bit better.  My husband wanted wendy's for dinner, so I decided I'd go along, and I put a spoon full of chili on a potato, and ate that.  Again, uncomfortable, but it didn't come back up.  It's now been about an hour since I ate, and while I'm still uncomfortable, I'm not in big pain, and stuff is staying down.  So now I think maybe it's not a stricture.   Maybe this whole thing has been a bad acid attack.  I started on nexium again, so we'll see if it helps.

Boy I'll feel really stupid if I called the doc over this!
