Surrender.

Are you still in the "food fight"? Do you continue to test your limits, eating beyond satisfaction or grazing? Are you spending your days planning to eat, eating, and regretting eating?

This is a vicious cycle that you can end. It's time to surrender. Time to admit that your way isn't working and to try someone else's plan. If you are unsure of what you need to be eating, make an appointment with a WLS-knowledgeable nutritionist. Surrender means you let go of the cycle, choosing instead to open yourself up to the guidelines of people who have a healthier perspective on eating.

Action for the day: Think about your current relationship with food. Are you worried and obsessed, or are you at peace? Take an honest look, and if you are still fighting with food, it's time to negotiate a surrender. Make an appointment with a nutritionist and reach out to your support system.

She's 3 days out.  She wondered if it could be the pain medication.  I asked her if she's vomiting and to please call the doc first thing in the morning.  I also told her to check on the fever too.  I just hate that she feels badly...I definitely suggested she call the doc in the morning.

oops sorry no I was out doing the grocery thing....

If i remember correctly she is about 2 wks out from surgery right?
hmmm.... well.... If she is trying to take "NORMAL" drinks of any fluids at this point... that in of itself is probably too much at once.
should be SIP SIP SIP... 1oz of fluid every 15mins. or so.... even at that it was difficult for me. Has she started on pureed foods? go back to all fluids. SIP SIP SIP....

definately call the doc. especially if there are any other symptoms.... low grade fever, warmth on/around incisions.  Could be lots of different things going on.

Nausea- But has she been vomiting? May have a problem with dehydration... which again in this summer weather.... needs to be addressed... quickly. So... my suggestion would be for her to go to the ER if it worsens.... THEY can call her surgeon or his partner (whoever is on call)

sorry not more help.... If i think of any thing I'll let you know.

Hey sweetie, are you still online?  Whatachief just emailed me about nausea.  I think she's having trouble getting the liquids down.  She asked how long the nausea would last.  I'd get her to call the doc but it's Friday evening.  I'm too far out to remember.  Any suggestions?
Hugs, Y

Last night I"m watching "so you think you can dance" and they use my clip!  I just about fainted. Here's a facebook video that I made with my iPhone.  I hope you can see it.

I'll upload a better version that I shot with my video camera if a bit.  I'm still in shock!  I had to laugh because they said "people of all ages" and they show a kid then me!  I would be the "old" demographic but that's OK!

She's having a little bit of a tough time.  She got home yesterday and had pretty bad diarrhea.  If you guys have a chance either post here or send her a message.  Bless her heart...she's starting to wonder if she did the right thing.  I told her it's normal and to take her drugs!  I'll be so glad when she gets better.

Strive for consistency.

Being consistent every day is tough. You may want to think that because you made healthy choices yesterday it's ok to slack off a bit today.

Consistency may seem boring or frustrating at first, but it becomes a very satisfying way of life once you get used to it. You learn you can trust yourself, and you begin to feel more grounded.

Action for the day: If you were going to be more consistent with your WLS lifestyle, what would your life look like, ideally? In your journal, describe this lifestyle. Then live it for a few days. See how it feels to nurture yourself by being predictable.
