I gave away some favorites as well, but I am enjoying looking at clothes again. In the past I was just trying to find something that would fit. It covered me was the only criteria. Now I shop differently. I use the thrifty shopper in town alot and get nice pre-owned clothes at a discount. You cant beat that.

Congrats on your accomplishments!!!!!!

Be congruent.

Is there a difference between what you say you want and what you do? For example, do you say you want to maintain your weight, but then spend your afternoon snacking?

Being congruent involves aligning your desires with your actions. It's hard, and it is not a skill you can master over night. Congruency is a worthy goal, however, and will greatly improve with practice.

Action for the day: For today, practice being congruent. If you say you are tired and need to rest, don't go out dancing.

You might remember I made a trip to vegas with my husband in Febuary and we called it my goodbye to the fat girl trip.  With much encouragment from all of you, I gave myself permission to be myself and not worry about still being fat....it was one of our best trips ever.  I even wore a black dress with rhinstones and sequins and felt awesome.

Well, today....my goodbye to the fat girl dress is going to a new home along with all of the other clothes that are so big they fall off of me or just make me look like a clown....it is hard to get rid of somethings because I really like them and becuase I spent a lot on them....B UT....I have been just eating as I can becuase of how busy I am and still losing despite not putting a huge effoert into it....so, I really believe I am not going back there.....and I have a freind who can use them at this point in her journey.....WIN-WIN!!!!

Topic: BE PATIENT IN YOUR EFFORTS.

Be patient in your efforts.

Most people long for a quick fix to their eating problems. They don't want to have to work at it or wait for the much-delayed reward.

But, patience is what it takes--countless hours of trying various tools and finding out which ones work best. Then, you have to put in more hours practicing new behaviors. Shaping a new life that really works requires painstaking effort.

Action for the day: Pay attention to your attitude about your WLS lifestyle today. Are you impatient or rebellious? Practice patience today. Trust the process.

 You could be right!
Of course, many members do READ but never really post topics or replys. At least, they may be learning something that will benefit them!
Some months ago I posted a "ROLL CALL" which drew in good responses... all that was needed was.... "HERE"

Some time in the future will have to do that again...

Have a great weekend....

Thanks JEllen!!  I did pretty good today,  TTYL.   I think me, you and Yvonne are the only on this boards this summer.  I think it will pick up, once kids are back in school.

Have a good weekend!

Topic: KEEP A SHORT LIST.
Post Date: 8/12/10 6:46 pm

Keep a short list.

It's okay to have grand goals and a long list of things you'd like to eventually accomplish in your lifetime. Just make sure you don't use that master list as your day-to-day list. Reading such a long, daunting list may prove to be so discouraging you'll convince yourself you'll never accomplish anything.

Better to make a short list that includes only a few goals at a time. Then work on your short list of goals for the day. You'll have plenty of time to get to the others on the master list. Each day brings with it the chance to accomplish more. Do it in manageable chunks, and you'll soon be pleasantly surprised at how fast you're checking items off.

Action for the day: Review your "to-do" list to make sure it isn't overwhelming. Put your master list in a place where it won't be constantly visible, and vow to consult it only when you've completed your short list.

Molly... if you feel it gets too difficult to CURTAIL ALL GRAZING... Switch to HEALTHY GRAZING.... then cut back on that as well... a few small pretzels with peanut butter.... the protein makes it stay in pouch longer instead of just melting away and leaving you hungry. a little peanut butter on celery-- CHEW CHEW CHEW...

sometimes we just need the CRUNCH.

but if we really are spacing our drinks and food. NOT DRINKING WHILE EATING THAT in itself is a big help...

TAKE CARE...
