Ah Wednesday! so much better than Monday & Tuesday!
Goal is in sight...
weekend on the way....

huh... what a difference a few hours often makes in a persons attitude.

Monday morning we know that Friday will be here- we know the weekend will follow... perhaps we have exciting things happening Saturday... awww if only it were Saturday NOW! THEN I could have some FUN.

but it's Monday... Saturday will NEVER come... I'll just lay here in bed and mope.

Of course NOT!!!!  WE get up... we do what we have to do... and before we know it we say... "WHERE DID THAT WEEK GO?"
TIME Flys!

My dear friends...

it is the same with our weight loss journey.

When we are at our highest... we can't even imagine reaching our goal.. it is nowhere in sight.  We must however, get moving in the right direction.... and keep moving. a pound or two here or there..
1/2 pound even 1/4 pound less... it ALL COUNTS....

It ALL ADDS UP....and our goal starts to come into view.
(THAT's Wednesday)... we can start to imagine what the weekend will be like.
each little goal after that is bringing us closer and closer...
then finally...

YIPPEE! We have achieved our GOAL!!!  Time to Celebrate!!!

so persevere .... get to the top of that hump and step over!!!

Thanks a lot for your support. I did fairly well today. I think I'm just sick of only eating premium, top shelf foods. I need some crap food also. i think I just got a bit excited and wanted to try all the bad stuff (pizza, ice cream, chocolate, ettc) at once. Nothing makes me sick or dump, wich makes it harder. I'm trying to learn balance between healthy and unhealthy....The bottom line is, I can't live my life only eating health foods. it just isn't going to happen. When I deprive myself too much, I end up binging on everything at once (like this past week).

Also, I do not do well on sugar free alternatives, including splenda products. Anything with artificial sweettners and a lot of artificial flavoring makes me extremely hungry. I'm probably one in a billion bypass patients that does better on sugar than splenda (or other artificial sweetners).

Yvonne is so right Yehuda.....:-)   It is better only 10 to 20 pounds vs. more like 80.  It is harder.  Metabolism, older now, etc, etc.  I remember when I could lose 30 pounds in 2 months tops, maybe 3 if I put my mind to it.  It took me almost 7 months of ups and downs.  Now I think I have did the hardest part.  (maybe not)  But either way I am in it until I am down to 218 or lower.

3 years ago it all started when my support group meeting changed nights and I felt I was OK, since I was doing so well.  One year it was about 15 pounds and next year it was another 15 pounds.  Then 2009 it was 50 big ones.  For 3 years I was not going to any support group meetings, etc.  Now I go to face to face support group meeting once a month.  I do telephone support group meeting once or twice a month.  Plus I am part of several forums and groups here on OH.com.  Coming here I found out about MyFitnessPal.com and I track my food and exercise there and get more support.   Support is SO crucial.  We can not read minds and it helps to vent when frustrated.  You get advice and just knowing you are not alone helps too.  Once you get the necessary support you have to want it bad enough to make things happen and you definitely need Patience with yourself because we are not perfect.  You need to persevere because it is easy to throw your hands up and give up, and lastly you have to have a positive attitude and really believe in yourself and believe that you can turn this around. Do whatever it takes.

You can do it!!  Lurking is not as helpful and therapeutic as posting.  I post almost every day when I am not too busy.  But definitely a week has not passed without me posting a reply or posting an inspiration.  I blog monthly also and usually whatever I blog I post to my groups and forums.  Please let us help you.  That is what this is all about.

This may sound obsessive but I've seen it hundreds of times.  RIGHT NOW is the most important time to get it together.  Molly can tell you herself that she wishes she could have kept that monster at bay long before 80 pounds.  It is HARDER to get off after surgery so you have to be really REALLY hard on yourself if necessary to stay where you are.  Again I'm sorry if this sounds tough but this is a crucial time for you and you've got to keep it under control.  We are happy to help you with this and that's what we are here for too!  If I could have talked to Molly before she regained I think I could have helped her but the important thing is that she's decided to kick that monster's butt.  I know she can do it too.  Her talking about even gaining back that one month and she still didn't let her get it down.  She's serious about this thing!

If we can help...anything...ask questions, talk about what triggers you wanting to eat..being careful about cross addictions..we can cover it all here and can help you together as a group.  The second important part is DON'T DISAPPEAR FROM SUPPORT!  That's the other deadly thing.  When you go away from a group and stop being accountable the monster will start stalking you.  You've got a great group of support here...
hugs, Y

Ok Jean, I'm gonna share something (against my better judgment) :)

I waited so long for the Saints to win but to be in the Super Bowl?? I dressed up in all the Mardi Gras stuff I had and sang "When the Saints go Marchin' in" every time they scored.

Yvonne, so funny.  Yes we think Shreveport is "Up North"!  So glad to see another LA face.  You must read my profile to see just how much of a LA girl I really am.  It's all about football and family.  I'm sure you know what I mean.

I'm excited to begin this whole new chapter in my life and I'm glad to have found your group as well.

Big Hug,
Jean
