Topic: Reached my goal - still on my journey
Well I reached by goal and beyond; and trying to maintain a stable weight. I finally posted a few pictures of before and after; but even that was hard. Sometimes I still see the Fat Girl and all the imperfections, but I try and focus on the positives through support groups, my daily spiritual meditation and applying the 7 Healers in my life on a daily basis.
I had a great weekend at a women's retreat and you don't realize how far you have come, till you see people that you have not seen in a year and they don't recognize you at first. My nickname for the weekend was "Skinny" - that's a first! But the best thing that happened, was I able to share my WL journey with a lady who is planning on having surgery in November. Someone shared with her that I had WLS. I see this lady every week, she has seen me losing weigh and commented on my new "appearance"; however, she did not know I had WLS, It was wonder to be able to sit down with her and talk about WLS, our support group and how we help each other before and after our surgery.
At our retreat, we look for our Angel of the weekend. On Sunday, people get up and share about their weekend and who their Angel is. She shared me, which made me realize that sometimes we are the only example that people see of success in this journey. I know for me, I had a hero that walked before and after me, so I got to see her blossom into a Beautiful Woman! and she was and still is my inspiration. Thursday night we saw each, sat next to each other and just smiled -She knows I am there for her every step of the way.

Nah, not lactose intolerant. I can drink milk just fine. It's just once I add the Protein Powder LOL
I think I am starting to feel better - today I was a bit nauseous, but not as bad. I really would rather just get my protein from food - but I can't eat enough to do that??? so what the heck Do I do? I did order some of that protein bread.

Suzy - I wonder if your problems with protein shakes mean possibly that you are lactose intolerant. I can't tolerate the shakes at all. For some reason, the bars aren't a problem, but those shakes make me sick, and it's because I'm terribly lactose intolerant. Soy for me, all the way! Tho it makes me sad, because I love milk :-( Anyway, I have to get my protein from food sources, and that's the way my doc wanted it anyway. It's possible to succeed at this without a single protein shake. I did!

I have been working out forever - so for me it is just getting back into the routine. I find I love listening to good music and the feeling exercise gives me. Although I do have post it notes around that say - "you are an exerciser" "I love to work out" "sweating is fun"! - Helps with the mental part of just doing it!! :)
The inches falling off of me are crazy - the weight loss is slow maybe 1-2 a week. But my pants are dropping off!

Hi There!!
I am a bit better the last couple of days. I have been taking my nausea pill first thing in the morning. Today my tummy is feeling "iffy" ugh. But overall I think I will survive.........
SO your protein drinks are powder?? What is the brand?? Sounds interesting......

Hi Diana!!
Happy to hear that you are feeling better. And boo on the puking. That's not fun. I have not had any trouble with that - amazingly. I have made myself throw up a time or two when something was stuck - but that's it.
Wow, good for you going to gym. I have to confess, I have yet to start exercising. Shame on me. But I am gearing up to start walking - where my DH works - they have a GREAT walking/jogging path that's 1/2 a mile each time around and it surrounds a gorgeous lake and woodsy area. I drive him to work so when I drop him off I will go park and walk.
Keep up the good work!!!!!!! Congrats on the loss!
