Hi Molly,

I'm a bit late in sending this but I want you to know that I am really proud of you and the awesome stand that you're taking to overcome your ED!! You're very inspiring to all of us.

I would love to have a copy of the sheet you mentioned. If you could, please email it to me here at OH.

Thanks so much and keep up the excellent work!

Also check Behavioral Health for Atlanta area.  The good thing is you are in a large metropolitan area and should find something to fit your needs.

Thanks Donna!  To look up a program like this in your area:  It is an Intensive Out Patient Eating Disorder Program and many states have these programs you just have to look them up. Google it and ask therapist. Also look up Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) -or- Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT).

Other keys words to goole are Binge Eating disorder, Compulsive over eating, even Anorexic and Bulimic.

Congratulations, Molly!!

I'm thrilled for you and pray that you will get all that you need to reach your goal and overcome this battle once and for all. Sounds like something I could use. Do you know if they have meetings in the Atlanta area?

Glad to see you on this group!

Take care,
Donna :)

Welcome Cathrine and a big time congrats on your upcoming surgery.  I have talked to many, many pre-ops in Canada and I know all about the wait time.  I think the first person I talked to had 8 years to wait.  In some ways that is just mind boggling but I also have known some people here that have been trying for 10 years.

I can so relate on being a cat person all my life but for the last few years I've had a rescue Bichon with three legs and he is my baby.

So glad you're here and SO HAPPY you are on your way!!  We have some other Canadian members but we've been kinda slow lately which is a lot my fault.  I hope to do a better job since some of my traveling has slowed down.

Welcome!!
Hugs, Y

Hi.  Feel free to view my profile to learn more about my journey so far.  I'm pre-op and planning to get the RNY.  I'm Canadian so our approval process is different from most on this site.  If we're lucky we qualify for surgery and our provincial medical plan covers the cost of surgery.  Because of that there are big waitlists for it and its elective surgery so it isn't a priority for hospitals scheduling surgery time.

I'm 48 and have two sweet cats (Desiree and Mona).  My boyfriend adopted a rescue dog (mini poodle/terrier cross) earlier in the year and his name is Cody.  I've always preferred cats to dogs but this little guy has stolen my heart.

Had an appointment with my surgeon today and he offered me surgery.  I still need to get the two 'scopes done and then wait for surgery.  I'm just so thrilled to be at this stage.

Thanks so much Yvonne.  You inspire me to keep trying and you also was one of the 1st persons to encourage me to share.  So now it is what I do because I feel stories like yours and mines can inspire others to keep on fighting for success and to reach higher until they reach their goals.
I feel it is important to share this because as me and you have discussed the struggle with COE and binge eating does not end for many after WLS and I want people to seek additional help for themselves if they need it.  Many are not aware of the many programs out there and that many insurances cover much more than they use to for mental health these days. So good hearing from you and hope you are doing good.  Thanks for your support and for believeing in me.  I just got more good news today.  We switch insurance in January 2012 and my new provider covers most of the cost of the program also.  Now I just have to pray I keep my job another six months so I can complete program.  I had intially wanted to wait to start the program in January but went ahead and started it in Sept in case new provider did not cover IOP programs.  Yippee!!

Hugs, Molly
