CONGRATULATIONS!!!

What a wonderful start to your weight loss journey! FANTASTIC!

it is quite normal to keep walking over to the PLUS section for some time after our success. Many have felt like salespeople would chase us out of the "normal" size area or at the very least give us some severe dirty looks.

one of my quirks was when getting on the scale... before I looked down... mentally ... I would say 2 hundred.... and it was ONE HUNDRED and whatever. Before when i was close to 300lbs... mentally .... I would tell myself 100.... how strange but others have told me they have done the same thing...

WITH TIME... all this sorts itself out... just keep up following your plan and you will have continued success!

Today I made it to onederland.  I am down 140 pounds since my surgery June 3rd.  I feel great, I know longer take blood pressure medicine and I am off insulin.  I can shop in the regular stores, fit in booths, it is amazing.  However; the mental part of losing this much weight is overwhelming.  I still go to the plus size section without thinking, I still behave as if I weigh 337 pounds.  Too help with this journey I have started a blog, if you have a minute check it out and follow me.

I have started a blog, here is my link, http://myveryactivecoach.blogspot.com/

Topic: Happy New Year
Just wanted to wish everyone a safe, healthy and happy new year!  Here's hoping that with constant focus on our health, sticking to the right eating habits, getting some kind of regular exercise, and great support we will continue to be successful WLS patients.  I'm grateful to Yvonne for starting this group of postive-minded people.  Hope to see this group become more active in 2011.

Best wishes to all!

January is a perfect time to renew our goals and reflect on 2010. flowerforyou I had to share below with you all! Happy hump day everyone!

WLS Daily Inspiration for December 28, 2010

Reflect first, then plan.

On New Year's Eve, many people talk about their plans for the coming year. They make resolutions and hope for better times ahead. But before you start down the resolution path, pause for a moment and truly reflect. What can you learn from the past year about yourself? Have you discovered what works in terms of your health and what doesn't?

You can make resolutions soon (or better yet, set goals), but today look back. You owe it to yourself to learn your lessons, so that you can grow wiser and healthier in the coming year.

Action for the day: Even if you usually don't journal, take a few minutes to do this exercise. Make a list of things you wish you had done differently this past year, and then a list of what you did well. Next to the things you wish you had done differently, write down a step you can take to ensure you won't repeat that mistake. Next to the things you did well write down what you can do to continue having success in that area. Read this list every morning in January.

Something I definitely need to do.  Put away the thoughts of what I ate this weekend and plan going forward!

Thanks

Weight Loss Surgery Support: Daily Inspiration for December 26, 2010

Finish the year on an up note.

You've made it through most of the holidays now. You've made some good choices and maybe some not-so-good choices. New Year's Eve will be here soon. Use the tips and tricks you've learned along the way to finish your year on an up note.

If you're going to a party, bring a WLS-friendly dish to share. Make a point to take small bites and chew thoroughly. Use a smaller plate. If it's a buffet, let someone you trust put food on your plate and bring it to you. Don't drink with your meals. Plan things to do with your hands other than eating: knitting, puzzles, games. Don't skip one meal in anticipation of the next. Remember, small choices matter.

Action for the day: Make a plan for the remainder of your holiday season. What a great way to kick off your new year.

Thank you for this positive thought.  I have been tempted and not eating according to my normal routine, but I am proud of the fact that I have been recording everything I do eat, owning up to it, and have not exceeded my calorie limits hardly at all.  But, even still, just knowing that I have been eating less nutritious choices with more carbs makes me start to panic that I could just start to get fat again.  Your suggestion helps me to get rid of that "stinkin' thinkin'" (as Connie Stapleton calls it).

Happy holidays to you Molly and thank you for all that you do for this group!

Congratulations on reaching the Century Club!  I am so happy for you.  Life is so much better when we are healthier and more active.  I am glad to hear that you will be experiencing your goal of skiing.  I went to Lake Tahoe once many years ago (in the summer) and saw how beautiful that area is.  I imagine it is breathtaking with snow.  I seem to remember looking at a place called the Heavenly Ski Run. I bet it is heavenly!

Hope you will post an action-shot picture of yourself!

Happy Holidays.
