Dear Mo and Yvonne,
Thank you both for the warm welcome! I found out yesterday that my surgery is approved! I'm really excited and hopeful. And scared! Next step: set it up, then tell my dad. I've been holding out on that until I was sure, because I think he will be worried about the surgery.....
Anyway I look forward to learning from you guys. Thanks!!

Thanks everyone..... I definitely miss being on OH to keep me focused. I just got back from the Y and while I was in the fitness center my husband was moving in the pool. I later joined him and we went to the sauna. He commented on how he forgot how good the water and sauna felt, and wanted to start doing it again. I was so glad to hear that. I worry about him and this definitely was a step in the right direction. I am also trying to be selective about my food choices. Being up North we dont have alot a sunshine and it gets very cold. I think if I dont becareful I could turn into a bear by packing in the carbs and hybernating all winter. LOL
Yvonne we could have a blast cross country skiing. One of these days we will meet.

Well it is good to hear from you Tressa!! Good plans for getting back on track!! Congrats on 150 pounds down and maintaining it!. Hopefully you hubbie is doing some type of activity. People *****ach goal and keep their weight off do some type of consistent exercise per day!!
And I so feel you on the body image issues and good for you realizing it is better to have lose jiggly skin than be obese. That is how I rationalize my saggy skin everyday.....:-)
Keep up the good work!

Hi Lisa!
I am pretty new here. I'm 46 also, and I have a 17 yr old son. I had RNY 18 months ago. I hope we get to know each other better on here. I would be happy to help you with any questions or if you just need someone to listen. To me, the waiting is the hardest part. But, then you are on the 'other side' and on your way to the best part of your life!
WOO HOO!!

Hi Tressa
It is so great that you feel comfortable to share your experiences and feelings. I think it is so good for WLS people to hear of other people's experiences, particularly their temptations/struggles/setbacks and how they have handled them. None of us is perfect and we all need to work so hard to stay on track. If we realize we are slipping, talk about it or post about it, I think it helps to face it and get back on track. If we just deny it, avoid admitting it by not coming to online or other support, and avoiding the scale, it will probably just get worse. I thank you for sharing , and it seems you have the right focus to redirect your efforts to de-carb the house and stop dwelling on the past. 2011 is going to be a great year if we keep up the good fight!! Best of luck to you!

So glad to hear that you are keeping up with the good fight....and sharing your experience and wisdom with others. I suppose your 7 Healers are some form of the WLS 'rules'. If you can, please share them with us.
Keep up the great work, and thanks for sharing!

Topic: RE: Down 140 pounds 7 months out......... oh what a journey and a feeling!
Congratulations on your amazing success. I'm so happy for you. I'm sure you must feel so much healthier and happier too. I have found that there is so much 'mental work' needed to go along with the physical tools the surgery gives us. It's not an easy way out, and I'm sure you can see that your results are from your hard work and dedication. We have to try to stick to the plan, even when we reach our goal weight and all the newness wears off. One of my main plans is to continue to be active on online support groups like this one to help keep this focus.
Best of luck to you!!!
