Topic: Back in the hospital again
They put me back the hospital again yesterday, but after a couple of units of blood I am feeling much better. I thought I was going to get to go home in the morning but my blood count went down again and they are going to give me another tranfusion in a little while.

All is not doom and gloom though, I have got really good doctors and my son brought my laptop today so I can get on the internet and not feel so Isolated. Plus since I'm on a clear liquid diet I should have a good weight loss this week.

Everybody have a nice evening.

Well... ~chuckle~  Seems like I start a lot of my sentences with that word!

I contacted my surgeon about the need for a do-over on my blood work and was told that it wasn't necessary because my PCP had ordered an ACTH Level test as well and both were in normal limits.  If it was the second test that was the fluke, then the ACTH would have been out of whack as well.  I asked specifically how there could have been such a drastic difference and she said that the time may have been marked incorrectly on the draw, which would and could and actually happens more often then one would think throw the levels off.  In 2000 cases that my surgeon's office has done, they said a second test has always been within normal limits.

The nurse ended the conversation by telling me that my paperwork had been faxed to my insurance company.... yesterday!  Wooooo hoooooo

Oh, and I go to pick up my CPAP machine tomorrow after work.  I go back to the pulmonary doctor on March 2nd at which time, he will send in my clearance as long as I've been able to tolerate the machine.  I don't see this as a problem as the sleep technician said I did extremely well with it.

Thank you everyone *hugs*

Well, yesterday my family and I went to the Scout store to purchase scout leader uniforms for my wife and I as well as pinewood derby car kits.  I performed a recon mission first and according to the size chart posted on their website, I needed a size MEDIUM (REGULAR FIT) in pants.  I thought to myself that they must run really large.

My wife handed me the pants at the store and I held them up and told her that these had to be a "kids medium".  The waist was too small and the legs were too skinny.  The helpful Eagle Scout in the store insisted that they were the adult unisex medium.  There was no way this was going to fit me.  So, in total disbelief, off I went to the dressing room.  Hmmm...my legs are fitting in just fine but there is no way...wait...I can button the waist with about an inch of room to spare.

Two weeks ago I was so excited to fit into new Levi boot cut jeans with a 36 inch waist.  I bought two pair.  Now they are both loose on me!  I never thought I'd see my military weight again but it's coming...

If it would make you feel better, get it done again.  I personally believe the body and the brain can do some miraculous things....you never know.

I have a feeling that you are just fine and can go forward but make yourself comfy about the decision.
hugs, Y

Kathy, remember that you are so new in this "normal people land" and I too was drawn for years to the emotionally unavailable.  I still struggle with self esteem.  Remember that you are still learning to drive this new race car you're in.  There's no need to hurry and setttle.  Oh my God have I seen that happen hundreds of times.  Consider this man a life lesson in getting back into dating.  It is tricky and new and you need to get some time under your belt so to say.  Life is never simple nor easier because we are thinner.  We are all pretty sure that losing the weight will make us happy but it is a short fix.  Kathy you ARE a winner and there's someone out there for you and it doesn't have to happen right away.  I was very lucky to find a good man right after reaching goal but it is a rare deal.

I want you to make some index cards and write down each of those great qualities and I'd love for you look at them every morning and really think about what they mean.  It's a way to start pushing out the stinkin' thinkin'.  You are the catch of a lifetime girlfriend!

Hi gorgeous girl!

I don't have any good information-but I saw your post and wanted to drive by and send a HUG!!

I don't know if you are still in touch with your Bari-surgeon. If so-it wouldn't hurt to put in a call for a "just in-case information" thing.

I hope things get worked out for you!!

Peace,
T
