Topic: RE: Checking In along with a painful lesson
I can easily recall cooking a few weeks post-op and the instant reaction to taste what I was cooking. Wow--I'd literally have to slap my hand before the food hit my mouth. Its a hard lesson to learn but eventually it will stick! Sorry to hear your lil grumpy pouch was complainin'--boy those lil buggars can be super sensitive huh?
Hope you start to feel more energy soon--I think it was when I hit my 4th week that I suddenly felt much more energetic. Be good to yourself and hang in there lady!!!

Topic: Checking In along with a painful lesson
Hi everyone. I Started my 3rd week back to work today. The past two weeks I have come home exhausted but this weekend I noticed I felt better and had some energy to catch up on my spring cleaning. Hubby just doesn't see the killer dust bunnies unless they come out to attack him.
I have not been able to tolerate alot food. I do 2 cups of milk throughout the am and fit another cup later in the day. I finally found a protein shake I can tolerate. A friend gave me Nectar , strawberry/kiwi and I mix it with water. Still cant do eggs, puddings, jello, or any yogurts. Don't know why? I tolerate food better at night than during the day. Don't know why?? I struggle with water but I am making appoint to throw out the excuses and get that in.
I do exercise and love to go to our Physical Therapy department at the hospital I work at. I am getting my routines back ,but not quite pre-surgery. I take the stairs more at work. And a co-worker showed me a walking route she does in the halls of our hospital.
My Painful lesson came on Sunday. I tried eggs in the morning and did not tolerate it well. So my pouch was a little tender. Later in the afternoon my husband made biscuits for his daughter and granddaughter. They smelled heavenly and I did not even think. I was totally in a pre-surgical frame of mind and ate one. I didn't even finish before the pain started. I realized and thought What did I just do? Over the next hour the pain increase dramatically and I was glad the girls left before they saw me double up and thrashing around on the couch. I totally didn't even think about what I was doing. It was like I was on automatic pilot. I wasn't even hungry. I definitely will not do that again. Pain is a great motivator. Newbie lessons really help put things into perspective My husband said "you're not going to do that again ...are you"I guess I had that coming since I played the roll of the food police a few times with him through out the year since his surgery. So when they say bread has to be dry toast they mean it.

I have been struggling since coming home from the hospital with getting my water in. I have been saying I cant get my water in. I haven't been tolerating it well. I guess it is time to face the facts water(which I used to drink tons of pre-surgery) is a very important part of my journey and I need to get it in. I also throw my protein drink and calcium in that category as well. Again thankyou for the reminder.
Topic: RE: Do the next right thing.
I have had my spot for quite some time, but I have been ignoring it as well as taking care of my soul.
Thanks for the reminder.
