It is exactly these sort of posts that nearly took me off of OH forever, thanks to Yvonne and the other members of this group, I am thankfully still here.  I do still peruse the main board occassionally. I do have to say I find it so very interesting that many of  those that offer their strong oppinions usually have a private profile. Makes you wonder .........

I LOVE Myrtle Beach! I'm jealous - but SO happy for you!

I love the pink ribbon tattoo! Cancer has touched my family SO many times, we've been lucky SO far ... I'm walking in the Relay for LIfe in June - something I wouldn't have considered before WLS (I was barely able to walk through the grocery store!). I will wear a ribbon for each loved one who has survived, and for each person we lost. When I reach my goal weight and have some of this excess skin rearranged, I plan to get a tattoo as a reward. I haven't decided what to get - but something meaningful would be nice!

Enjoy the sand, surf and sun!

Are you going to Broadway at the Beach or Barefoot Landing while you're there?

I'm smiling when I read these posts because it just reminds me why I am here again!  POWERFUL POSITIVE ATTITUDES  (LOVE YOU YVONNE)

I so remember the times when I could feel steam coming out of my ears, my nostrils flaring and my face turning red because the posts on the main board would upset me that much.  I just wanted to tell people to Stop throwing sand in the sand box!  Can't we all just play nice??

I left the main board for some of the same reasons you have mentioned and seriously thought I would never be back.

I love giving back and being a positive part of my fellow WLS journey's.  I feel like this board is truly a blessing for all of us and it's so nice to enjoy logging on again!

Have a great day~

Next time you see that you can PM the person offering them help and you can also invite them to our group.  I too would never speak to someone in that manner and cannot imagine living in a world where people talk to each other that way.  I have said many times that we are bonded by a common thread....the desire to be freed from our obesity.  Love and support is what we are seeking.  Fortunately now through the groups we can get that.  The situation is so sad.

Just got back from my morning stroll down the strip!  Walking hand n hand with my husband, and breathing in the smell of the ocean is an indescribable feeling to me!  Don't want it to end.. :)

I love the feel of the sand between my toes, the sun on my face, the wind in my hair and the sound of the waves is very therapeutic for me!  I'm a beach baby and can't get enough!  Can you say instant stress relief.

Yesterday I watched my mom who is a 2x Breast Cancer survivor get her first tattoo!  It's the Pink Ribbon and it says survivor and the two years she was diagnosed.. Amazing

Reminds me of how precious life is!

What a great memory to add to our 2010 Spring Break Vacation!  This is one vacation that was long over due for all of us!

Have a great day...

Thanks Yvonne, as usual you are my voice of reason :)  I don't know why I let myself get sucked in.  I really don't know though how someone justifies saying that to a fellow WLS patient.  If anything, we should be kinder to each other because of the potential health risks.  I wonder if she would even feel bad if that woman did drop dead.  Its insane.  I cherish life and I cherish my friends and family and I wouldn't say that kind of stuff to my worst enemy.  I would never tell someone to "eff off and die".  But you are absolutely right.  We have talked about it before, and there is a group of people who stand up for each other no matter what the person says.  I am sorry, but if you were spewing hate like these people, I would call you out on it.  Just because we had the same surgery doesn't mean I am going to stick up for you when you are being rude.  I'm of the opinion that there is a place for everyone here, no matter what surgery they had.  It doesn't matter to me.  We are all in the same boat.  I seen one just last night where "people of the same surgery" were coming out of the woodwork to pounce on some pre-op who posted something she heard about "that certain surgery".  They were not just correcting her, they were being downright mean in some cases.  I wanted to say something, but I knew it would make no difference.  I hadn't ever crossed paths with this woman I got into it with, and probably wouldn't have said anything if I knew she couldn't be reasoned with.  If I see that post again, I will send you a link.  It was quite ridiculous and it was totally a mob mentality.

You know, I have been over on the main board for about four months and I think this is the first time I have ever had a run in with her.  It seems pointless to try to talk any sense into some of these people.  You might as well be speaking to yourself.  Thanks for the advice :)

Thanks for the kind words.  It is such a cliche, but I just wish everyone could get along.  They will realize one day that life is too short for this non sense.  I mean honestly, in the big picture, was it worth it to talk to someone like that on a message board?  Just because they are unhappy they don't need to bring it on to others.  I really think some of these people go in with the intention of starting a fight, cause they get some sick pleasure out of it.  Oh well.  Thanks for the advice, it was much appreciated! :)
