So... thanks very much for the reminder that exercise FEELS GOOD!
You go, JEllen!
They say you should avoid the ex-lax and dulcolax products and others that are stimulants... what we need are softeners. MoM is good because it works by bringing water into the digestive tract and is not a stimulant. My doc says regular use is OK.
Also... are you getting in at least 64 oz. (a gallon!) of water per day? This is important... extra fiber won't help as much unless you're meeting or exceeding your water goals.
Sorry to be so gross, but I'm a bit concerned
Thanks!
So... I totally get the forgetting that goes on... I find myself sometimes feeling very strongly like slapping someone for their question, which isn't how I used to feel... when it's a subject I've learned about and feel like everyone should have learned about by now. "How could they go through surgery without knowing THAT?" or some such uncareful thinking.
All of this understanding doesn't mean I like reading the crap on the main board any more than the rest of you, ha ha! I get the daily email update of the Q & A, and when I have time I like to answer those questions as kindly as I can if I have something to contribute that others haven't already said. I really do feel the need to "give back" as part of this process. It's funny... I've been sniffing around WLS for over six years, but am only 8 weeks post-op from my own RNY. I'm simultaneously a newbie and also sometimes tired of this subject!
Thank you all for your good energy... so much appreciated by me.
I'm still pinching myself... I'm into uncharted (or not anytime recently anyway) territory, weight-wise. Getting used to people telling me I'm "melting away." Still having the nagging doubts... can I keep it up, will I gain again, will I get close to my personal goal of 180 pounds (insurance weight for men at 5' 8" is 150, believe it or not). Hard to get the naggy part of my mind to shush.
