and we should all let that be a lesson learned!

thanks for sharing your wisdom!  We all need to be educated... and it is good to learn from an other persons experience if possible....

Well.. i think i would be hiding in a crowd of about 7000! so should be easy.... however...

I went for a 2 mile walk last night uphill... fairly good pace and today my poor shins are cramping me something terrible! so...

I should be relieved that I won't be doing the 5K thursday! see it all worked out ok.

Really working on training for that Half marathon in Baltimore in October so not going to cry over missing a 5k here.
will plan on doing another 5K maybe in August just to see my time.

Once again last night goofed up with my stopwatch.  hit the lap at a half mile. again at the mile point and 1.5.
BUT... at the point MY cell phone rang... picked it up and folded my husbands phone... which is where I was using the stopwatch feature... of course... closing the phone turned off the stopwatch feature! DUH...
one of these days i will learn!

I think I will LOOK for my old SPEEDO stopwatch for SWIMMING Laps.  It is a neat little finger stopwatch much less cumbersome than carrying 2 cell phones!

Good grief need to carry less stuff...

Dangling on neck slapping my stomach
...my keys- and ...
a whistle... (as if anyone would look???)
my pepperspray for dogs- foxes- rabid racoons- and...
(crazy people!)
in my pocket:
my ipod with cord to earphones
My cell- with earpiece... ANOTHER cord (lost my bluetooth)
hubby's cell with stopwatch

of course all these cords are getting tangled- driving me NUTS!

oh I forgot my small flashlight also on a cord!

I actually prefer walking at night but... need to be better prepared.

My shoelaces were also to tight causing some discomfort at knot.
Should have stopped to adjust it - but just wanted to make a good time and then lost it anyway!

so FUNNY!!!

ya win some- ya lose some...

and ya learn something along the way....

i'm off to Curves now... ta ta for now....

Topic: Preparing for Surgery this July/August
Well after reviewing the stuff that the nutritionist gave to me - there is a list of "must have items" on it.  TSo I started picking up a few items - here is a list:
1.  Citracal  - which i bought - but the pills are HUGE - do I crush these afterwards or should I look for a liquid calcium?
2.  Liquid Vitamin B complex sublingual - which I bought - but do I need B12 also?
3. Chewable Centrums - i bought
4. Unflavored Whey - couldnt find it this weekend....?
5. wire mesh strainer
6.  sugar free crystam light  - bought
What else would people recommend I get before the surgery to be ready?  I know I am type A - because I dont even have a date but I want to be ready in case they say June!

Ohh bummer!    I can imagine what a let down that is after planning for it!   But like Yvonne mentioned maybe you can run it anyway - and just know that you completed it?

I can't wait to be able to run! it is one of my goals  for after surgery.  I will start with a one mile! and go from there....

My Ode to RH

You gave me grief, You were no Friend, in fact

I was sure you were going to be my end.

You made my body shake, and my heart palpitate.

You blurred my eyes, and scattered my brains.

You always showed up unannounced and

always at the most unpropitious times.

To shut you up I had to Feed my face, and usually;

With a Total Lack of Grace.

It became apparent to me that No Matter What

You were here to stay.

So Here I sit, with a choice make.

I could hate you. Let you win.

But that would just be a sin.

No Instead I will do what I do best,

I will understand You and your Intention.

You are here for a purpose or you would not exist.

So What must it be? I cannot believe it is just to antagonize me.

No. You are here to impart wisdom in me and a sense of responsibility.

I must think , plan ahead, always and before I act.

I may never embrace you or call you my friend,

but my anger with you has come to an end.

Together we walk toward one goal, to have health and happiness as a whole.

                              Welcome Roxie!

I can tell you, you will LOVE this group.  Many of us who were nearly chased away by the negativity of the Main Board have found solace, comfort and friendship, and education here.  I read a couple of your other posts and boy can I relate to the fear of regaining.  I am having my own issues with that, so just know you're Not Alone. Again Welcome Roxie. We are So Glad you're here.
