I have to say that you are off to a AWESOME start. You have already made so many HUGE steps. The biggest is the therapy. I think that it will help you down the road. Congratulations to the fact that you stopped smoking and drinking soda.
Let me tell you from experience that the bottled water is a GOOD addiction. Many of us have problems with dehydration down the road, so try to keep up that habit.
You picked a wonderful group to join. We look forward to seeing you as you progress.

Okay.. I am going to post THIS and my Something Special post together today because I feel they go hand in hand.
I don't know if anybody knows the Gospel singer Albert Jamison, but I love this song. The lyrics are basic.
Show Yourself Mighty.
Show Yourself Strong.
Show Yourself Awesome
In the Midst of the Storm.
In times of Trouble,
He will Give Us a Song.
Show Yourself Mighty.
Show Yourself Strong.
Here is the point.... If you are feeling weak and discouraged, encourage yourself. Just because you are having a bad day, that doesn't mean that you should present yourself as if you are. I heard once that on your worst day, you should wear your best suit. Sometimes you have to fake a smile... but fake it. The more that you present yourself in a positive manner, the better that you will feel.
Sometimes there is nobody to pick yourself up but you. I have to make the choice each day to do that. I speak as if I am strong, even when I am not feeling it. I do that because I KNOW that I am not going to bet better when I am feeling down on myself. If I don't care, nobody else will either.
Take a minute. What makes you a good person? What makes you special? What are you good at? Look deep within yourself... There is SOMETHING good about everyone. If you are struggling with this issue, make an effort to do this. Start with something simple, like you are a good listener or you have the ability to keep trying. The more you work at it, the more things you will find.

Just wanted to say I appreciate what I've read so far and the mission behind positive thinking and support. I hope to be a part of it.
I'm an April 2010 dser. Very happy with my Mexico surgery and really lovin' my ds so far. I'm so lucky to have had no complications besides trying to get so many fluids into a tiny tummy. lol. I only took 9 days off work and have never had 'buyers remorse'. I feel very blessed and lucky to have this journey.
Thanks again and will talk to you soon.

Have you tried the worldwide pure protein shakes? The vanilla is about the same consitency of milk, so you're not taking in a super dense fluid that can hurt your our new tummy. They come in 21 and 35 mg cans. No Sugar or Sugar substitutes. My opinion they are expensive but worth it.
Oh Diana That is just Awesome!!! I am so sorry you've had such a hard time of it! I really did sail through my rny surgery but my Total Hip replacement (06/02/09) I did NOT. As you get better the bad days will be a distant memory, and the good days will become the norm. But for now as the Jellenator mentioned Don't over do it. And if a day comes that you need it, use your persciption pain meds.
