Topic: Road trip this past weekend
We traveled to see my husband's youngest graduate high school. The trip was very long and we had his oldest and her two children with us. Going down was OK. And the graduation ceremony was great. I was able to get 40 minutes on the treadmill Saturday morning at the hotel. We spent all Saturday night helping my husband's ex and her husband load a 24 foot uhaul truck. So I cant count the trips up a hill to a truck while carrying boxes. I didnt get back to bed at our hotel until midnight. Coming back home was not good. I had plenty to drink and brought some snacks and food I could eat. The ride home was over 9 hours. Frequent stops so the 2 yr old could run around. She was very cranky while in the car seat. We all were tired and I found myself eating just to eat. I went off my plan for the day and felt horrible.I started eating way too many peanuts and never had my tuna. I was over tired and started to get into old habits. I almost wonder if it would have been better to stop at a restaurant(not fast food) and had something. But no one wanted to deal with a cranky child (or grandmother ) We just wanted to get home today. Now I feel icky. I think I will make myself a protein shake and finish up early and go to bed

Molly...

Nighttime eating certainly can be a huge challenge that I can identify with. My husband works 2nd shift.. so when he gets home at 11:30 he often times wants something to eat.

Does this mean I have to eat some dinner or snacks with him? NO...
but have I? YES...
Do I still? YES... at times...

Is eating that late healthy? No of course not... all of us are aware of that. The problem is not if we do this OCCASSIONALLY but rather if it becomes a practice that we do REGULARLY.

and as you mentioned... importantance of WHAT we are CHOOSING to eat at a time we know promotes gaining weight.

JUST A THOUGHT:

Have you tried picking a few nights where you:
WILL NOT EAT after say 8:30.... drink water... tea decaf etc

another night only allow... healthy snacks...

ONE NIGHT of something not such a good health choice... this night you can choose to indulge or pass... till the next week.

just some thoughts....

ENDEAVOR to ACHIEVE!

I know you want to SUCCEED!

WOW! THAT IS TERROR-RIFFIC!!!  (new word- definition: the wonderful combined feeling of Terror and elation experienced when riding a roller coaster... terror when approaching the first apex of the big hill before going over.  example:

"OH GOD - Why did I get on this ride??? If I live to get off this ride....I'll never... fill in blank.... again")-

which is soon replaced with....

"THAT WAS THE BEST COASTER RIDE EVER...
WHO IS GOING WITH ME...

AGAIN???"

So.... Congrats to you my Friend!!!! WOO HOO too!

now... just a little thing to consider... you stated...
"It probably doesn't seem like too big of a thing to do but for me it was really cool."

OF COURSE IT IS A BIG THING!!!
PLEASE TRY TO STOP MINIMIZING YOUR TRIUMPHS!
THESE ARE WONDERFUL ENCOURAGING MOMENTS IN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY!

WHEN WE SHARE THEM WITH OTHERS- IT GIVES SO MUCH ENCOURAGEMENT TO KEEP ON GOING... FACE THE STRUGGLE AND CONQUER!

This is something I really have had to WORK on myself!
After years of negativity I've BEGUN to turn my thinking around...

It isn't easy... but it can be done!

SO..... SHAKE OFF that negativity BUSTER!
and PUT on a Hap Hap Happy FACE!

YOU CAN DO IT!

You got me thinking.... it's been a loonnnng time since I was on a coaster.... the last time I went barely fit... maybe this summer I will also make this a WOW MOMENT for myself!

Hi all-

I posted this on my blog today and wanted to share with you!  Just one of those that hit home!

Enjoy-

“It's not what we eat but what we digest that makes us strong; not what we gain but what we save that makes us rich; not what we read but what we remember that makes us learned; and not what we profess but what we practice that gives us integrity."  ~ Sir Francis Bacon

Topic: I rode a roller coaster today
I went to Six Flags Over Georgia today and rode a bunch of the rides including three of the roller coasters. This is the first time that I have been to Six Flags since 1978 because until recently I was too big to fix on any of the rides. It probably doesn't seem like too big of a thing to do but for me it was really cool. If someone had told me a year a go that I was going to be able to do all the things I can do now I would have told them they were crazy.

I used to tell people that some people are just fat and that is just the way it is. And I used to believe that but it appears that I proved myself wrong. Yippee!!!!!!!
