I tend to get the all or nothing mentality instead of focusing on the little accomplishments along the way. You're right JEllen I would not have worked out a year ago at the hotel. And Molly you are also right it is only one day. Thank you for helping me put things into perspective. I cant believe the energy I had to help load the uhaul truck. I have come a long way

Molly, this will probably be a forever problem for me. Like I've said before I just have to not keep that stuff in the house because at night I WANT to eat. Will it ever go away? Perhaps not but the thing to do is to look the reason directly in the face. I know that I am more likely to be bored or anxious or one of those things I am that triggers me. I can keep the stinkin' thinkin' at bay pretty much in the morning and during the day but in the evening it is more difficult. Maybe due to just being tired of fighting my head and those thoughts and I eventually just get worn down. The only way I can actually fight it is to commit 100% that I will not do it. Like I said before, 99% is so much harder to do. If I make it black and white, just can't do it, it is easier. Do I mess up sometimes? I don't call it messing up though. I just allow myself to eat something without going overboard. I don't want to do the binge thing so I try to keep it normal.
Sorry this is jumbled but yes I will probably fight this one forever...it's just trying to deal with my head at night. When I fix my thinking it is much easier to handle the night stuff so it will probably always be a work in progress.

Topic: Getting back on track - 20 lbs lost since March
In May I am very pleased with my progress. I focused on my actions and thinking and I lost 10 pounds in May. I am very happy with my progress thus far. Despite my ups and downs on the scale this past 3 months I have still managed to lose 20 pounds March 5th & I am ecstatic about my progress.
I am still behind on my 8 pound a month average but that is quite OK with me. I may or may not catch up. The main thing is the scale is moving in the right direction.
May 2010 accomplishments:
I exercised 3 days a week at the gym.
Stuck closely to protein 1st rule.
Stayed with my calorie range most days.
Have been working on all or nothing attitudes and I have worked on more positive thinking.
June Goals:
Exercise at gym 5 days a week.
Eat more veggies and fruit.
Continue healthy positive self talk

Thanks Judy!!! I will try some to these. I do not drink anything after 8 because I will be up too many times during the night if I drink pass 8 pm.

Whooohooo!!! What a WOW moment for you!!! After the many roller coasters I wanted to ride and was not able to fit on, I understand fully your happiness on getting on not just one roller coaster but 3!!! Good for you!! Yippee!!!!

One day of unfocused eating is ONE DAY. Tomorrow is another day and let go of yesterday. One day is not going to kill any of us, because none of us are perfect. honey. Keep up the good work!! Congrats on active day Saturday.

Ah yes.... sounds like a busy stressful weekend....
But consider...
In the past would you REALLY have spent 40 minutes on the hotel treadmill?
Would really have spent 5 minutes even THINKING about using the hotel treadmill?
Girl... you did GREAT...
It was just ONE WEEKEND...
Now.... FOCUS on that treadmill time and the fact that you were able to do all that hauling... (that's exercise too!)
