Molly you amaze me. Wow....I cannot imagine you standing or walking at 600.  You must be very tall because I would never guess you were 310 in the other picture.  I saw Katie Jay at ASMBS a couple of weeks ago and she knew exactly who you were.  I told her you were always here even when I've been bad and not kept up.  I've just said yes to too many things.  I would love to share this post if you would be OK wth it.  I'm soooooooooo proud of you.  YOU are awesome!!
Hugs, Y

Welcome! I can be an outdoors girl too and I actually call myself my father's favorite son because I did more stuff with him than my brothers.  You will be amazed at how much your life will change when you have the surgery and you will be able to go back to doing all that stuff.

The group has been very slow because I've just joined and started so many things.  I have moved most of my activity to facebook but I promise to do better.  Molly is here and she's so wonderful to still post even when I've been gone.  I have so many out of town trips planned this year and I have to sit down and decide how to manage my time better.  I'm so happy for you!!
hugs, Y

Hello all!
I am new to the group! Nice to meet you all I am a 26 year old female from the good ol' state of Montana! I am married to a wonderful man who is a great support for me. I am a total outdoors girl. I love to get out and fly fish, hunt, atv, hike, bird watch and just get out there and have fun. Lately that hasn't been able to happen do to now my size and just being plain embarrassed to go outside and do the things I love.
Sooooo...I am just setting up my ducks in a row to have the DS done sometime in the next 6 months or so. It's a lot of work to get all the information you need and set it all up. I am determined to do this and to have a better life.
If any have an amazing surgeon in the Idaho, Montana, Washington area let me know.
Nice to meet you all again!

I weighed over 600 pounds here.

I was about 310 in below picture in Feb 2007 and today I weigh 346, so I am trying to get back to 310 and even lower, one day at a time.

"I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I'm Not Where I Use To Be!"
I still have a ways to go but I will get there one day at a time :)  I love reminding myself that I have come a long ways even though I have a ways to go still.

Weight Loss Surgery Daily Inspiration For June 15, 2011

Get back to basics.

Sometimes life gets complicated. You are busy. Maybe you are going through a big change, like a move. Or maybe you're getting over an illness that kept you from eating your usual fare. Somehow, when you get a bit off-track, it can be hard to see your way back. The best solution is to get back to basics.

Drink at least 64 oz. of water. Have three to five appropriately-sized meals. Chew slowly and thoroughly. Eat protein first, then veggies, and finally, if you have room, a small amount of complex carbs. Take your vitamins and supplements. Move your body (even if it's just doing a little housework or taking the stairs instead of the elevator).

Action for the day: Make today a "back to basics" day.

Weight Loss Surgery Support:
Daily Inspiration for May 9, 2011 Katie Jay, MSW

Commit to action.

You've probably heard the phrase "Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today." Yes, it's a cliché, but it rings exceptionally true for WLS patients.

It's frighteningly easy to put your health on the back burner. Maybe you get so busy during the day that you think nothing of skipping meals or forgetting to drink your water.  Of course, one day won't matter in the long run, but by putting things off until "tomorrow" you're really telling yourself that you're not worth the time and effort it would take to care for your health. Because the funny thing about waiting for tomorrow is&we put the tasks off until tomorrow, again.

Action for the day: If you've been letting other things get in the way of your WLS lifestyle, take action TODAY to get back on track. Sign up for an exercise class, create a supplement regimen, or start keeping a journal of what you eat.

Welcome!!  I don't get to hear of too many stories where someone actually gets the insurance after they've decided to have the surgery.  Congrats!!! I'm sooooooooo excited for you!!  You do need to do it for you and your health but there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to look and feel better too!  I know I mentioned it on the other post...I've been spread pretty thin so it's tough for me to be everywhere.  I really need to appoint an admin here to help me out!  Please also visit my Bariatric Facebook page at www.facebook.com/BariatricGirlPage and I'm looking forward to following your progress.
Hugs, Y
