WLS Success-through Powerful Positive Attitudes
Life without Support
A year into my WLS Journey, I was dependent on support from my Bariatric surgeon, family and friends; but they did not understand what I was going through and their questions and concern about what I had done, made me confused, frustrated and wondering what in the heck had I done. But I was trying to draw support from the wrong group of people.
It is 2.5 years into my WLS journey and I was reflecting on where my life would be with out everyone of you. The past year I got online, went to the Obesity Help Event in Houston and to support group meetings and dinners in my area.
It has been an AMAZING Year. I proved to myself that age 53, it was not to late to do something real that I can be proud of. Losing weight, changing my eating habits (got rid of all the junk), drinking water, working out and getting my body in shape; has made me unrecognizable....my old employees didn't recognize me when I walked into their office and today my OB/GYN thought I looked amazing and was so proud of what I had accomplished (especially since he has known me for 20 years and we had tried all those other things that didn't work).
Today I am still focused on my jounery, eating right, applying the 7 Healers my doctor educated me on and exercise. I don't want to lose sight of the weight loss and remaking my life that everyone has helped me to achieve.
I rely on support and I know I can never go further without you. I need people that are stronger than me, to keep me reaching for the stars.
Thank you all and may you have a Blessed 2011.

So glad to hear that you are keeping up with the good fight....and sharing your experience and wisdom with others. I suppose your 7 Healers are some form of the WLS 'rules'. If you can, please share them with us.
Keep up the great work, and thanks for sharing!
