Today I made it to onederland.  I am down 140 pounds since my surgery June 3rd.  I feel great, I know longer take blood pressure medicine and I am off insulin.  I can shop in the regular stores, fit in booths, it is amazing.  However; the mental part of losing this much weight is overwhelming.  I still go to the plus size section without thinking, I still behave as if I weigh 337 pounds.  Too help with this journey I have started a blog, if you have a minute check it out and follow me.

I have started a blog, here is my link, http://myveryactivecoach.blogspot.com/

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

What a wonderful start to your weight loss journey! FANTASTIC!

it is quite normal to keep walking over to the PLUS section for some time after our success. Many have felt like salespeople would chase us out of the "normal" size area or at the very least give us some severe dirty looks.

one of my quirks was when getting on the scale... before I looked down... mentally ... I would say 2 hundred.... and it was ONE HUNDRED and whatever. Before when i was close to 300lbs... mentally .... I would tell myself 100.... how strange but others have told me they have done the same thing...

WITH TIME... all this sorts itself out... just keep up following your plan and you will have continued success!

Thank you so much.  It is just a weird feeling.  People call me small and skinny and I am like, who are they talking to............

Congratulations!!!

I was shopping for a dress and trying some on. My husband was trying to find smaller sizes for me when the sales clerk told him we were in the wrong section. It didn't even occur to me to go to the other side of the store.LOL
Its a great feeling!

Congratulations on your amazing success. I'm so happy for you. I'm sure you must feel so much healthier and happier too. I have found that there is so much 'mental work' needed to go along with the physical tools the surgery gives us. It's not an easy way out, and I'm sure you can see that your results are from your hard work and dedication. We have to try to stick to the plan, even when we reach our goal weight and all the newness wears off. One of my main plans is to continue to be active on online support groups like this one to help keep this focus.

Best of luck to you!!!

ConGradulations!!! ONEderland is a ONEderful place to be isn't it!

The mental part really is quite a hurdle.  I can't say that I am totally "there" yet, but I am well on my way.  It took me a long time before I was able to stop doing a double take when passing a window or a mirror, "Oh Ya!" "Im not fat anymore!" Realizing that not only am I not a 1x anymore I am not even a medium sometimes.  WLS works on our bodies, it is up to us to work on our minds.

It's a great journey my friend. As bumpy as my road has been at times, I wouldn't change it, because it has made me who I am. And I can honestly say I really Like who I am.

Be Well

Amazing numbers!  I am at 6 months out and am down 58-60 pounds post surgery (another 20 pre surgery total of 80).  So you kicked my butt big time!

Shopping is definitely weird!  I had this lady who kept getting in my way at T. J. Maxx.  I would move away from her and she would follow and push me out of the aisle!  So I said something.  She yelled at me that she had to be in this "section/ plus sized"  where I did not have to be there.  So little did she know - she gave me a pretty good compliment!  :)

I am soooooooooo happy for you!  I'm so glad you're blogging.  Don't worry you'll eventually adjust on your size.  I still have a few issues like thinking I'm bigger than I am but I rarely go to the larger sizes anymore.  Give yourself some time and most of all take pictures often!
