Plateau?

I have been sitting at the same weight for over a week now between 248 - 247.  I am not anxious about this, but wanted to know if any of you have experienced the same thing.  Up to this point, I have lost significant lbs each week.  I am on track with my eating, and I have tuned up my exercise.  It is strange to me that I have not lost at least 5 or so lbs this week considering my intake and exercise level.  I am wondering if anyone else has gone through a similar patch of time with nothing showing up on the scale.

Thanks,

JB

My doctor suggested that I change up my cardio and weight training periodically, since our bodies get use to what we are doing; and make sure I was drinking half my body weight in oz in water every day.  This helped me to have continual weight lost and reach my goal this year.

JB..first of all..great job with your consistent weight loss. I can't say if I have had a plateau or not because I don't weigh myself at home..my surgeon told me not to buy a scale and to let them weigh me at the office. I can go in anytime I want and be weighed I don't have to have an appointment. Maybe you should throw that scale in the closet for a few weeks??? Make sure you are looking at your big picture and not just your weekly loss..I know that is hard to do sometimes because we really need to see that weekly loss..but it sounds like you are doing fantastic and now is not the time to even think about getting frustrated. Keep up the great work :) Katie

Hi JB,

My surgery was like two weeks before yours - and I experienced like a 3 week stall.  Seems like all of October I could not get past 235-234!  Then all of a sudden I dropped 5.  Now I am 228.  I still think I need to cut back on carbs  - but plateaus are normal as our bodies are trying to protect us!

Totally normal! I went for a solid 6 weeks!  Don't freak if you are doing what you are supposed to.  Before you know it the pounds will be falling off again.
hugs, Y
