I just wanted to say hi to everyone and keep you posted on my latest journey to success...
I had my gb surgery Friday 10/01. Went in at 6 am home by 1:30pm. How cool is that ....no overnight stay. Anyway I am doing good and so far have not taken any pain meds. I hate taking them because they make me so nauseous that I rather have pain then deal with that. I don't see the surgeon again till 10/13. I hope he releases me then to go back to the gym and pool. I want to get back on tract with my exercising and eating. I picked up one of my old habits and tend to graze(that is if I wasn't sick from the gb) So I am looking at this time to readjust and get back on track. I also have to find away to handle the emotional eating. I have plenty of scrapbooking and card making to keep me from eating. You cant eat while doing those projects.LOL

Tressa so glad you got done with that. I'm still wondering why so many don't take the gall bladder while they are there.  I even asked how much it weighed hoping I would lose some during surgery!  Sounds like you've got a plan with the scrapbooking.  We eat because we are trying to self medicate some pain or stress away.  I try to get on and help someone when I start stinkin' thinkin' but it's still something I have to work on every day.  Glad you're starting to mend!!
hugs, Y

Thanks Guys...

I asked to have my GB removed at the time of surgery but my surgeon would not do it at the same time as the RNY. I knew I had the stones for gosh sakes. I even gave him the unofficial ultrasound picture I took of my GB while getting ready for the RNY but he said a month before or a month after not during. Well I ended up waiting quite a few months to build up my time at work so I could take off again and I stayed local and had it at the hospital I worked at. All In all It was the best timing. Still no pain meds and healing pretty good. I just wished the incisions would stop itching.LOL
I'm getting my pictures together to start on my scrapbook album. I hope to get quite a few pages done before I go back to work.

Hope everyone has a great week...Hang in there if you are struggling because we all do from time to time but a healthy and happy life is so worth the fight
