Thank you for sharing your story. I feel so badly for you even sort of feeling guilty. It's like you have survivor's guilt. I would definitely suggest that you both join the WLSFA and submit your brother for a possible surgery. You never know until you try and it's early yet. If enough people join together it can be a dream for many that have been left behind. I have actually seen this happen for 2 of our members right here. Thanks to the generosity of 2 different doctors those 2 members were given a second chance. I told the story on my blog and you can see the pictures of those 2 beautiful lives that were saved.

Don't ever give up on your brother. Please do contact the WLSFA because there's always a chance they could help.

Thank you Yvonne! I went to their site and am gong to join as well as offer support. I am so grateful that there are people out their helping others that don't have the opportunity that I have been given. I also read about the Vegas meeting in May. I am going to try to make it to that as well. Sounds like a great time! Thank you for all that you do! You look so amazing and are an inspiration to me!! :)

Thanks for posting this, Yvonne! The more places it is seen ~ the more word gets out and that means more opportunities for the WLSFA to help people in need.

It was an honor for BariatricTV.com to be able to capture this and share this with the community. Our only wish is that this can open the door for many more who share similar stories. And can help the WLSFA bring a chance at a new life to many more.

That is an amazing video. At first, I thought she had a different insurance company... so switch insurance. Wow... just ridiculous to pick & choose who gets it and who doesn't.

Very glad she is having her surgery finally!!!
Does she have a date? Or if she has already had it...
PLEASE PLEASE... update us as to her progress....

(BTW... your husbands voice is amazing also....
no wonder he is an announcer)

You cannot imagine how difficult it is sometimes when you have that stupid morbidity clause. They make it so hard sometimes to the point where it is nearly impossible. If mine hadn't been so long ago they would have kept me from it but it was back in the days when they could deem it medically necessary and get it overturned. Those days are pretty much over. I've known some incredibly horrible cases that were still denied. No date as of yet but I'll keep you posted! I talked with her sister Sunday and they are excited!
