Today and the rest of this week and month, I am going to really work on not eating for 3 to 4 hours.  I ate breakfast at 9, so nothing in mouth other than water until noon minimum and 1 the latest.

I have to stop the grazing.  So that will be my next project.  To stop grazing.  I know this is sabotaging me, so I have to get it under control ASAP.  I am not aiming for perfection but I need to manage this better.

What have you done to stop grazing if you have had this issue?  Any tips and suggestions welcomed.  Thanks again for your continued support.

Molly... if you feel it gets too difficult to CURTAIL ALL GRAZING... Switch to HEALTHY GRAZING.... then cut back on that as well... a few small pretzels with peanut butter.... the protein makes it stay in pouch longer instead of just melting away and leaving you hungry. a little peanut butter on celery-- CHEW CHEW CHEW...

sometimes we just need the CRUNCH.

but if we really are spacing our drinks and food. NOT DRINKING WHILE EATING THAT in itself is a big help...

TAKE CARE...

Thanks JEllen!!  I did pretty good today,  TTYL.   I think me, you and Yvonne are the only on this boards this summer.  I think it will pick up, once kids are back in school.

Have a good weekend!

 You could be right!
Of course, many members do READ but never really post topics or replys. At least, they may be learning something that will benefit them!
Some months ago I posted a "ROLL CALL" which drew in good responses... all that was needed was.... "HERE"

Some time in the future will have to do that again...

Have a great weekend....

Hey Molly,
It is true that you cannot acheive perfection but grazing will absolutely do you in.  One thing is to actually log what you are eating and you'll be shocked at how much the grazing starts adding up.  Also do you realize that you are eating when you are not hungry?  The way I deal with it is bring what you are supposed to eat and know that you just cannot eat any more.  If you bring the stuff JEllen suggested, save it up.  You can hold it back as an extra treat if you don't eat it.  Molly I know this is hard but you just have to make the decision to not eat anything except what you plan for the day.  The next thing is to figure out what is bugging you at the moment....is it a painful emotion you aren't dealing with?  Sometimes I realize I am "full up" worrying about stupid things in the future.  It isn't here yet!  FEAR = future events appearing real.  When we let our heads fill up with worrying about past stuff or reliving a painful thing or worrying about something that's way ahead, we create this tension and stress that is relieved by eating. Every time you start obsessing on something painful or start worrying about anything other than "right now", start saying some affirmations or start thinking about the things you are grateful for.

Be still.... find a quiet place inside.  Listen to music, find things that keep you occupied.  There are many tricks but for me it is a black and white thing.  Someone comes in with stuff to eat or the vending machine is calling my name...I don't listen.  It is poison to me.  Again...please know this is what works for me.  I hope there's something that will help you here.
hugs, Y

Thanks Yvonne! Well I will be working on this problem big time the next couple weeks!! Until I get it right and make it a habit not to eat when I am not hungry and at the same time not letting myself get too hungry.

Hugs,
Molly
