Um, Judy?  I don't have Crisco in my kitchen anymore.

Can I use that three pound jar of cashews instead?

LOL!!!

So proud of you my love! It made me think of something I saw on TV this morning.  I was watching my recorded episodes of "Dance your A$$ off" and they did something very profound.  They made the remaining contestants run around a track and they were all good with that but then they pulled out weighted vests and made them wear them while they ran.  When they finished they were so happy to get them off and couldn't believe how heavy they were.  It turns out they were wearing the amount of weight they had lost so far.  I cried like a baby.  I imagined running around that track with 130 pounds on my back....I know I could not do it.  It is almost inconceivable to me that I carried that much weight on my body.  I would love to encourage anyone feeling down about how much they've lost to think about it in these terms.  It was an eye opener even for an old vet like me.  I wish I had kept the shirt I had on in my before picture but I have one that I still show when I talk.  It's like a huge dress now.  I also saved the jeans I called "my skinny jeans" and I could get 2 of me in them now.  Congrats JEllen.  You are just the bestest!!

Oh, Yvonne - I know just what you mean.  I went camping the other day at a campsite that doesn't have water, so I had to haul my own.  I have a drinksafe container that holds 7.5 gallons.  A gallon weighs 8.35 pounds, so my container, after I filled it, weighed around 60 pounds, and I had to carry it to my pickup!  I had to stop and rest - and 60 pounds is less than half of what I was carrying around 15 months ago!  I've lost 144 pounds - Man!  you'd think that obese people would be fit, just from hauling all that with them everywhere, but I'm fitter now than I've ever been in my life - and it's great!  The whole time I was carrying that container out from the house, I was thinking - remember this, Kathy!  Remember! Remember!

Kathy I have a similar story. I had a 60 pound 21 inch monitor that died sometime between me being fat and thin.  I picked up that monitor and moved it at least 2 or 3 times because I was so protective of it and didn't want anyone to break it.  When it finally died I went to pick it up and move it and I nearly killed myself.  I could NOT pick it up.  I was shocked....I picked it up at 260 pounds and couldn't when I weighed half that.  It did not make sense to me at all.  I was in total disbelief because I did it before!  Nothing in my mind prepared me for not picking it up.  It made absolutely no sense to me and it still doesn't. Why was I able to pick it up at my largest and could not anymore? I have no idea.  It's strange when you KNOW you can do something and you can't.  It is indeed a wonderful lesson.  I can't stress enough about not forgetting the little things...wanting to tie your shoes etc.  It's when we forget to be grateful for those things that we get in trouble.
