follow-up from my endoscopy

I went to my 2 wk  f/u from my endoscopy. My doctor found an ulcer. He originally thought my symptoms of pressure ,nausea and long episodes of burping were because my opening needed to be stretched. Well all is well in that area and my marginal ulcer should be healed in a month. Praise God. I can get off my ulcer meds and go back to one nexium a day after the month is up. They took me off the nexium after surgery and obviously I needed to stay on it because I produce more acid than usual. My symptoms have improved and I am eating and drinking much better.

I did leave the office a little upset with my Dr.....okay I was mad at him. He mentioned I did not have much weight loss in the 2 wk time span. He asked if I was eating too much.  NOOOO!!!!!! in fact I still struggle to get at least 2 meals and a shake in let alone the 3 meals and a snack they recommend. Then he asked about exercising. YES!!!!!  I exercise. I go to the gym 3x a week for 20 min elliptical, 45 minutes weights, 10-20 minutes on the treadmill and 2 out of those 3 days, a  45 minute water aerobic class. I also walk on my breaks at work and always take the stairs. Sometimes I get more walking in on the off days. He said I must need more weight bearing exercises.
Come on now... I do not feel I am a slacker and I have read people can hit plateaus.I had surgery 2/12/10.  I don't think all our efforts to improved health is reflected on the scale. Nor should we look to the scale to be the litmus test for all our hard work. i try to weigh myself only once a month. But I do take measurements once in a while as well.
Sorry.... I shouldn't get so upset but I had to vent and now  I will carry on with trying to have a healthy lifestyle.

Hope all is well with everyone.
Have a great weekend

Glad you are feeling better.

Don't let the doctor get under your skin... so to speak.

You know how you are doing... THAT is what is important.

I know when I've hit a REAL plateau or when I'm goofing around.

Hang in there the weight loss will come- with you following your food plan & all that exercise!

Sounds like you are on the mend! You know your body and if you are doing all the right things, the scale will move. Don't worry about your doc, I dare to ask if he has ever struggled with his weight!

Hope you feel better soon. You make me tired just hearing about your exercising!

Thanks guys!!!

I think my other addiction is exercising. I cant believe how good it feels to work out. Plus a great stress reliever.
