Turn a negative into a positive.

Turn a negative into a positive.

Many WLS patients have such a poor self-image they spend their time looking for flaws in those around them: The thin saleswoman has a crooked nose&your rich friend's children are badly behaved...your pretty sister has awful hair.

But consider this: If you do not find the beauty in everything, praise people genuinely for their accomplishments, and wish good will on others, how can you expect to learn to love and accept yourself? When you are a person who always has a kind word, can always see beauty, and is genuinely happy for another's success, then you will see the beauty in yourself. You will know joy.

Action for the day: Today, notice your thoughts and judgments. Whenever you have a critical thought, replace it with a loving thought.

I have said that same thing so many times.  When you can find the joy in other's accomplishments it really shows how much we have grown personally.  It is so sad when we view the world as "well what about me? why didn't I win that?" instead of congratulating the person that won.  I so want to see the beauty in everything around me because I spent too many years in the darkness.  Thanks for sharing Molly!

I wonder why it is sometimes hard to be happy for others success?  Their success shouldn't make us feel any less valuable or capable - but sometimes it does.

EXCELLENT POINTS!!! The other day whe I complimented the tired, not patricularly attractice WalMArt checker on her hair (it WAS really pretty) her face brightened, she moved faster, and smiled more. There is sincere beauty everywhere-we just have to look for it sometimes,
