WLS Success-through Powerful Positive Attitudes
Placebo Surgery?
All of your nerves were cut during surgery, so you need to be extra careful when you're taking a drink. Because of the cut nerves, you won't feel it, but you could be doing some harm, so please, please be careful. The rules are there to protect you. One ounce at a time, please! Eventually, your new little pouchie will repair the nerves and you will feel everything you need to in order to have signals for stopping. Right now, you need to use the rules for your guideline. Take care of that pouch - think of all you've gone through to get it!
Six weeks. Then, you should really be able to feel your restriction. I am almost (!!!!) at my one-year surgiversary, and only now can I chug several swallows. And while it's wonderful to be able to do it, yesterday - after I had had a long walk and was a little dehydrated- I took a longish chug and I had a woozy, yucky feeling that lasted 5-10 minutes. I had to sit down and wait it out. It's a different life, all right.

I was SO SURE they did that to me!! I was SO Hungry for the first month I was just SO sure they tricked me and I was part of some placebo study. Well I wasn't. I actually did have it, I'm pretty sure of that now. Be Careful my friend. RNY is a funny thing it will let you know it's there in the funniest (or not so funny) way.
